Undying Hydra of Okubo Kuragari Hidora
Kuragari Hidora, born in Tokyo’s Harajuku district, grew up surrounded by its fashion and street culture during the late '90s. His family consisted of a Yakuza grunt and an accountant for said Yakuza, both serving under the Tojo Clan. So, it was only natural for Kuragari to also become a member of the Tojo.
After spending time within the organization, and just before the Tojo Clan dissolved, Kuragari held the position of Captain in the Ryoga Family, a Tojo subsidiary known for white-collar crimes. The family had a middle-tier standing and was led by a boss who believed in only targeting scammers and those deserving of their treatment. During that time, Kuragari met a young Ishida Tsubaki, who would come to see him as a father figure though Kuragari was unaware that Ishida was secretly connected to the Nikkyo Consortium. That was, until the group fell apart due to the implementation of the 3.K Plan, a government initiative aimed at removing “gray zones” in Japan.
Seeing the events about to unfold, Kuragari left the Ryoga Family with Ishida to start his own security company one built on the values of old-school Yakuza: the Ninkyōdō way of honor, loyalty, and respect.
He spent several years building the foundation of the business, using up all the money he had saved over his lifetime. Following the loss of his one true love, who died from cancer, he no longer had any need to save for a wedding or a house. Instead, he invested it all into creating a future for fellow Yakuza and others in need of a new home. Kuragari became known as a shrewd business partner, earning a reputation for fairness and strategic insight. He formed alliances with members of Okubo’s police force and the local loan shark, Namazou.
As the months passed, Kuragari’s Hidora Security Company grew in both size and strength. New faces began to appear around the office people he personally handpicked, others who joined after crossing paths with members during difficult times. After a long time, Kuragari finally felt he had a place to call home again, surrounded by a loving family and people he could genuinely care for.
In the past year, much has happened. Most of his operations stayed under the radar, as he’s the one responsible for making deals and exchanging information with the other Family heads, namely Ishida and Yoshimura, to keep others’ hands clean. Surviving a bullet to the chest changed him. He’s now acutely aware of both his position and his mortality. He does his best to solve problems on his own, not wanting to bring harm to anyone else. But when things get too big to handle alone, that’s what his clan is there for to rely on.

Kuragari stands tall, well above the average height for a Japanese male, imposing and wise. Despite his slender frame, you wouldn’t expect his punches to hit as hard as they do. He wears a classic-fit, single-breasted, two-button suit in charcoal gray, paired with a solid black shirt featuring a neatly folded collar and a formal teal green tie. He completes the look with a pair of emerald-colored leather Oxford shoes.
His face is sharp and calm, with a serious look that doesn’t change often. His eyes are focused, like he’s always thinking or watching something. Kuragari doesn’t need to say much you can tell he’s in control just by the way he looks at others.
