The Iron Word
The Iron Word are an adventuring party based in Korbal, joined by their shared faith in the Raven Queen, not a common faith within the realms of Korbal and one which is somewhat frowned upon as the practices of the Raven Queen are seen by many to be similar to Kol Turrant, The Keeper of the Dark Six.

History
1565
- Roger Emery, Wenner Whispermouse, and Rollo Megingjar, along with three others were a part of an adventuring party who were contracted to hunt down a Gorrillon female who was causing increasingly frequent difficulties for the Ironwood harveters travelling between the forest and the city. Their confrontation with the beast lead to her death, along with one of their members in spite of the intervention of a young Firbolg known as Enna.
They found the young Gorrillon and, dispite protests, Rollo adopted him.
1567
- After working in and around the Eisenwald for nearly two years, the now slightly depleted party encountered the Ancient Green Dragon Aranthatix and, rather than simply being devoured, managed to come to an arrangement, agreeing to deal with the Fae creatures which were becoming increasingly irritating to the Great Wyrm.
1568
- After being invited to meet with the leaders of the Fae who were causing the mischief, Roger and his companions managed to entreat both sides to come to an agreement. To seal the agreements, Roger and his party were given the name of the Iron Word, in reflection of their diplomatic gifts, along with the restirction of never wielding iron while within the boundaries of the forest. A concession Aranthatix was willing to eventually concede, as it did not in fact affect him in the least. As additional reward, the fae gifted the party a Stone Maul entwined with protective magic and Aranthatix gifted them some of his discarded scales and a lesser fang. These were fashioned into a set of armour and a shortsword enchanted to slay giants, carried by Rollo.
1570
- Having gained two more members, Rook and Ballisantirax, the party were at the maximum number permitted by their pacts with Aranthatix and the Fae and were regularly meeting with both sides to ensure that all were keeping to the agreements. During this year, a wandering Stone Giant, named Withun, found his way into the forest and began to cause even more trouble for the dragon than the fae had. Rather than immediately slaying the creature himself, Aranthatix chose to test the loyalty of the Iron Word. They, following their usual pattern, managed to redirect the Giant without killing him. In a moment of lucidity, the Dreamwalker realised that he had been saved from a fatal confrontation, rather than hindered, and crafted them a shortsword to match the dragonfang Giant-Slayer, an obsidian blade onto which he wove a bane against dragon scales.
