Eskes, Goddess of the Hearth and Family
Mother of the Hearth, caretaker of the family, Eskes is the companion of Mirgeia, working in the places Mirgeia cannot reach. Each household will generally hold a small shrine above the hearth, where people pay credence to every day, hoping that Eskes will continue to bring warmth to the house and its members. Those who do worship Eskes are commanded to keep the hearth burning, and temples dedicated to her can never allow their fire to go out. Some cities who give worship to Eskes believe that if the fire goes out, the city will fall.
Eskes is most often depicted as a mature woman with flaming hair, wrapped in warm robes and layers, or as a Blue Fire Elemental.

The Sweeping - 1st of Eskios
On the first day of Eskios, houses and temples are subjected to a purification called The Sweeping: where the filth of these locations are ritualistically swept from the settlement, and into the nearest hole or body of water, cleaning the settlement of the filth within. This first originated as an excuse to clean the Hearth of the temple, but evolved into a settlement affair.
