Aethfin

Measuring only 3 μm in length, these small Insecta survive in the vacuum of space feeding on the lethal radiation given off by the stars Mizar and Alkaid.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Small yet complex, these creatures consist of a segmented head, chest and thorax. Six wide, flattened appendages are used to maneuver across the regions solar current.   Due to a reaction inside their body with the radiation they subsist on, the thorax gives off a brilliant blue-green glow. When gathered en masse, this glow can be seen at night from a planets surface.

Additional Information

Geographic Origin and Distribution

The Aethfin can only be found in the vastness of space in what is called the Aethfin Region. With no obvious prey species and a limitless amount of radiation to feed on from the twin stars of the Mizar Core, the Aethfin's existence is itself the single most densely populated location in the Mizar System .

Oo I bet these are beautiful when they can be seen. Also, slightly creepy, but the fact they glow offsets that for me. :D
