Luna

Luna

Luna is a different kind of werewolf.   Most other werewolves cut off their human families for fear of killing them. Even a well-managing wolf will isolate themselves from their former human lives. They often fear what they could do. The aggression is always there in them. They're always holding themselves back. In many instances, they have to act like the world is made of glass and they're a raging bull about to break lose.   Life isn't like that for Luna. She's a new generation of werewolf, created by Artemis, cured of the original curse's aggression and suffering. There is an inherent peace in these new types of wolves. Their pack dynamics are different. Their perception of the world is different.   Fittingly, Luna is the perfect embodiment of this new form. She wants to be active in the world. She wants to create change. In a sense, she's a disruptor, unwilling to accept the status quo. Many may look at her and see a silly, starry eyed girl, when she's fierce as a lion.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Luna's life was honestly pretty perfect. She was born to a decent family, cared for, loved, and encouraged essentially her entire life. Her dad was an engineer and her mom a therapist. Between the two of them, they filled her with a certain wonder for the world, the sciences, and the way things work. They taught her she could be unstoppable if she tried and thought about whatever problem was in her way. You could do everything right, and still fail. You could make every right choice, and still be wrong in the end. It was best to embrace failure, accept it, learn, and build from then forward.   In High School she placed well in both track and the girls' soccer team, she won awards in Science Fairs, and she scored well across the board except for math class. It wasn't that she was bad at math, but the way schools taught math and the way she thought about it weren't quite compatible. It was the first major obstacle of her life. She had to face it head on and work her way around the problem. Her solution was somewhat cheating: she programmed her calculator to do the work for her.   She had been just started into a long degree program, pre-med with plans to go into nursing or biomedical research, when she was kidnapped and made a wolf. Her parents have her reported as missing. The cops have looked for her. Her entire graduating class has been looking for her. So far, no one's seen her.

Education

Luna is exceptionally well educated. From a very young age, her parents instilled in her a love for knowledge, science, and learning at large. She grew up on documentaries as much as old Mr. Rogers reruns. Her inherent geekiness could have made her an outcast in school, if not for her overhwelming friendliness and plan old resistance to negativity.   Her college studies have been broad so far. She's focused on the pre-reqs first while slowly feeling out what exactly she wants to do. All her life, she's thought she'd want to go into the medical field, biomedical research or nursing, maybe become a doctor, but it's too soon to tell. She's too young to know what she wants to do, and she knows that. So far, her education's been focused on figuring out where her life will lead her.

Employment

Luna's first serious job was later in high school. She was a receptionist at an engineering firm, the same one her dad worked at. He insists she landed the job entirely on her own, but she has doubts about that. There had to be better people than a perky high-school girl. Not that she's going to question it. Money's money and a work experience is another valuable line on her resume.   Unfortunately, she learned pretty quick that she hates being a receptionist. The job is slow, dull, and boring. She could feel her brain dying every second she was stuck there.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Luna's achievments so far are all academic and sports oriented. She has trophies for winning soccer matches, MVP awards, placing in track, and at least a few from the science fairs (though not as many as she would like).   She graduated with High Honors, though was denied a place in the National Honor Society.

Failures & Embarrassments

She is a bit embarassed about how easy her life has been so far. She knows there are people far worse off than she's been. There's time she's said something from a place of privilege, not quite understanding how someone else's life could be different than her own. It's happened a few times and it always comes back to haunt her, making her feel stupid for having made assumptions she 'should' know are not going to be accurate.

Intellectual Characteristics

Luna is smart as a whip, fast as lightning in her thoughts, and well educated to put that intellect to use. She can be faced with a problem, and will happily, eagerly bash her brain into it until it's been wrangled and solved. Most of her problems though, have been test questions and the logistics of life. A few times she's had to solve practical, engineering problems. She approached a flat tire and a stuck lugnut with physics and attempted to melt the nut off the car, for example (it didn't work).   She has a certain naivety to everything interpersonal. She believes a positive outcome can be made in any situation. They just need to find the right variables, make things move the right way, get the right schedule, and everything will work out in the end. She's never met someone truly malicous to show her otherwise.

Morality & Philosophy

The spirit of the law matters more than anything else. Even then, that law must make sense. She has a personal, inner logic of justice. If a rule or a law doesn't make sense or of it is arbitrary and harmful, she will have immediate opposition to it. The world would be better if it were focused on calm, logically made rules and events. Of course, such a world is not likely to arise any time soon.   She believes that all death needs to be avoided. She would never agree that anyone needs to die. The world could be fixed if only everyone would just calmly, peacefully come to the table and find that correct combination of variables to solve whatever is waiting. before them. Cearly, the world's greatest problems need only a little patience.

A new and mysterious wolf in the area. She seems lost in the world, but driven to save lives.
