Elizabeth

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Elizabeth is a fairly unremarkable specimen if you ignore the fact that she is, by all appearances, a velociraptor. She stands just under a foot and a half tall at the hip and six a half feet long from the tip of her snout to the tip of her tail. If she rears up she can reach just about four feet. Her plumage is a dusky mustard in color slowly shifting to ochre at the tips of her wing and tail feathers, with streaks of black almost like tiger stripes throughout. Her narrow head is highlighted by a pair of large, ever alert amber eyes and of course a mouth full of razor sharp teeth. Both her hands and feet terminate in sets of wicked claws, her feet in particular sporting the famous "killing claws" of her apparent species. As a velociraptor, she does not wear clothes beyond the occasional sweater that her owner knits for her when it's cold.

Special abilities

Modified Velociraptor: Elizabeth is a literal dinosaur. She is exceptionally quick and stronger than her size would suggest as an animal designed to hunt. She of course has wicked, sawing jaws and claws fit for grasping and slashing as well. She is not, however, a perfect recreation of the extinct animal. Her arms and wrists have a greater range of motion for more 'human-like' manipulation of objects. She cannot, however, speak as her vocal cords are not structured in any way to allow her to handle human languages. As well she is, well, small. That she's stronger than her size would indicate isn't really saying much given that she's as small as she is. She isn't winning any fights with anyone truly physically gifted. Further, she's no more durable than a velociraptor would be.   Extended Intellect: The genetic quirk of her creation also gave rise to Elizabeth's staggering intellect. She is, by all accounts, a genius. She is fully capable of understanding spoken and written English, Russian, Spanish, and French and even responding, though non-verbally. This IQ is, however, somewhat stunted by relative lack of knowledge in many areas, though she is quick to pick things up she isn't actually particularly well versed in an array of subjects. Of course all the intellect in the world doesn't change the fact that she's an animal. She still has many of her animalistic mannerisms and instincts, though whether that's a weakness or not is up for debate. She isn't exactly welcome at the store or the library on her own given that she's, again, an animal. At present she's completely unable to function in society without her owner.   Mechanical Savant: What she is best at, and her true talent, is machinery. Elizabeth has some form of innate understanding of machinery, both mundane and exotic, that borders the supernatural. She does not, in point of fact, fully understand the "how" of it, but she understands the "why." She can't fully tell anyone how exactly her mechanized armor suits function, she just knows how to put them together so they do. And with only a few minutes examination she can easily repair all but the most obscure of machinery, even if she can't tell you how she did it.

Personal history

Elizabeth is a result of many scientists becoming so focused on if they could do something, they did not stop to consider if they actually should. Always seeking to push the limits of genetic engineering to create bigger and better poultry, they succeeded in creating larger, stronger chickens. But they kept pushing, going further and further. Until at last, one egg didn't go forward but rather backward. Very, very far backward.   This was, of course, the kind of development that prizes and endless grant money are made of. But try as they might, they couldn't actually figure out just what the hell they had done and why it did what it did. Elizabeth, or Extended Lifeform-1 Zeta as she was tagged by them, was more curious about their curiosity than anything, even when they endlessly tested her, poked her, pricked her, she was still a chick craving attention. And she received it primarily from one of the poultry factory's floor workers who had been assigned to care for her between rounds of experimentation.   Over time, a period of a few weeks, this cycle wore on the poor woman until she conspired to steal the poor thing. It wasn't even difficult, though the company was well aware it had been her that had done it in their desire for secrecy lest someone else steal their creation they had no documentation of any kind, at least not anything that proved she was theirs. Still, the hostilities were such that Elizabeth and her owner moved to Philly within the year. Her owner, having been raised on a farm fixing all her own equipment before striking out on her own and ending up a poultry factory worker, found work in an auto shop and quickly discovered Elizabeth's curiosity and natural talent for machinery. She became the shop pet and a valuable asset, though they try to keep her out of view of the customers.   This newfound talent did, however, breed something of a protection streak in Elizabeth and lead her to create the first of her mechanized armors. Coupled with her natural hunting instincts coming to the fore, they've lead her to patrol her neighborhood as a mysterious, heavily armed protector when she isn't working her shifts.
