Daisy

Daisy Eloise Jones

Daisy is the tactical werewolf. She's often seen with either a shotgun or a sniper rifle. Where most wolves tend to fight hand to hand, she's always kept her enemies at a distance. She knows she's at a distinct disadvantage. Even as a wolf, she's on the smaller side, she's more exposed to being overpowered. Sure, a human is an easy match 99% of the time, but there are people out there with super strength. She prefers her rifles and shotguns, it's guaranteed to scare anyone off, or at least, keep her safe.   She's been one of the more aggressive wolves. Her guns are her hobby and her life. It's gotten to the point that she can dismantle and rebuild any of them to the tiniest spring, blindfolded. In some cases, she's even managed to shoot a target more or less by its sound more than by sight on a few occasions.   Outside her work with guns, she is excellent in hand to hand. Sure, she's small, but she uses her enemy's size and strength against them every time. She'll win by barely touching her targets. A subtle knife against her target's bowels, a slit to a crucial artery, making them fall on their own sword. Usually in such close quarters, she'll hunt with traps. Worst case, she'll do her best to strike and run.   Why so much emphasis on her fighting? It's a way of life for her. Hunting, fighting. It's very big for her.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Daisy is a bit tall for a girl, coming in at 5'7". She's slim with decently muscular arms for her size. Her gaze can be piercing, taking in whoever she looks at as if she plans to kill them in the next minute or two. The scary thing is: she is thinking about that. What to do if a fight breaks out. What will she do? How will she live? She's measuring everyone up for trouble, weighing her options.   Typically she dresses in short sleeve shirts or tank tops, jeans, and decent hiking boots. She sometimes wears tactical vests to carry extra ammo and other supplies. It's better than weighing herself down with a heavy backpack. She'd prefer to be slim and light at all times. Most of the time, she carries at least her shotgun, and often, one of her rifles. She's particular to an M14 and a barret for her long range fighting.   In the city, she reluctantly leaves the firearms behind. She'll carry extra knives, wear more 'normal' clothes, with silver edged knives in her pockets or under her clothes. Sometimes, she carries a poison coating to use on her blades, particularly if she's worried about the outcome of a fight.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Daisy wasn't born in a great area. There were gangs, rumors of human trafficking. She was practically raised with her first shotgun. Her dad had been a marine and he'd be damned if some scummy low life got ahold of her. It was a paranoid way to grow up, but it wasn't necessarily wrong. She was treated almost as if she was made of glass, as if she wouldn't be able to really take anyone in a fight. He taught her every dirty trick in the book. It didn't help matters that both her parents were pretty hard core in the whole doomsday-prepper movement.   The whole little-commando thing made her a bit of a problem in school. She was always quick to defend herself. A boy tried to grope her in 8th grade, he was twice her size, and she left him bith a broken nose and a concussion. His social status never quite recovered from that. The school only punished her for the incident. She got stuck with a week of suspension for assaulting a 'poor, innocent young man', who got off on the 'boys will be boys' defense. It's not sat particularly well with her, even years later.   There were other fights growing up, each one reinforced her belief that she couldn't trust anyone. In one case, some girl thought Daisy was sleeping with her guy. Her brothers tried to take 'revenge' on Daisy. This time it was outside school and no one would believe that the then 5'-nothing Daisy had caused the damage she did. When it came to those early fights, she was a rabid fighter. No one walked away from her without the scars to prove it. Her dad would remark, 'all fights with my little girl happen at the intersections of pain and suffering, across from Fuck Me station.'   Getting bit did nothing to tame her aggressiveness. She was 17 at the time, in the woods hunting. Her dad had all but given up on the sport. She dropped whatever they were after faster than he ever could. She had been on the trail of a wild turkey. It was a little early to catch something for Thanksgiving, but she wanted it. There were plenty in the area, so at least it wouldn't go to waste.   Unfortunately for her, there was a Rabid, a Mutt, a rogue wolf on the same trail. He decided that Daisy would be the ideal treat. For once in her life, she got in a fight she wasn't remotely ready for. It was a fight to the death, at least, so she thought. The beast pounced her, they went rolling, her shotgun was over her back and she'd dropped the rifle. Even in those days, she always went packing heat to take down an enemy nation. Her only back up weapon was a hunting knife at her side. It was a steel blade, nothing to a wolf unless she could get it to bleed out.   The beast tore into her shoulders, trying to get at her neck. She was able to keep its fangs at bay. The knife came up and went straight for its guts. It pissed the wolf off. She persisted, growing dizzy now from her own loss of blood. The wolf's own bleeding must have weakened it, she managed to get it off her. Dizzy, she managed to get her shotgun while it rolled back to its feet, already healing. She managed four shots on it before she passed out.   Her curse probably saved her life. The wounds from the wolf began to heal. Her turning is somewhat unusual, the day before a full moon. She experienced her first shift that night. Maybe it was her small size, maybe it was something unique about her, maybe the curse was all the more effective for all the damage it had to heal. The full moon that night wouldn't hurt matters. Most wolves don't shift until at least a week after they've been bitten.   She changed, and then remained changed. The Philadelphia Pack found her months later. She was well on the trail to being a Rabid herself, a wolf who's been lost completely to the curse. They found the wolf who'd bitten her, he at least still managed to shift to his human form. He spilled on the stories of his victims, proud of it all. Except for her. He didn't mean to tell them about the girl who got away. The hunt to find her took far too long for anyone's comfort.   In the time she was a Rabid, Daisy managed to take out seven people. She was already aggressive and paranoid as a human. She was already deadly as a human. Two of her victims were boys who'd attacked her in school. She had weathered every abuse, remembered every fight, and then when she could take her revenge, she had.   Once the pack got to her, they worked with her. Slowly brought her back to some form of normalcy. It was not an easy road. She still harbors some thoughts of just being a wolf again, and that terrifies her.   At the time of her disappearance, she was declared missing. Her parents and the cops searched everywhere, but they didn't know to look for a wolf girl. Years later, Astrid would contact her family for her. She posed as an FBI Agent, stating they had rescued Daisy from a trafficking ring, somewhat. Daisy rescued herself, and lead them to the ring. Due to witness protection and all that, they would have to make Daisy disappear for a time. She just wanted to let the family know their daughter was alive, they'd see her again. Over the years, there have been a few messages back and forth, always under a heavy guise of security.

Education

Daisy's disappearance disrupted her education. She left school at the start of her junior year. She was so close to finishing. Once with the pack, she managed her GED when she turned 21. Currently, she has no plans of going any further in her education. Every now and then she'll consider being a detective or a private investigator. She has the skills needed. The problem is, she can't see herself ever integrating back in society that way.

Employment

For the most part, Daisy works for the pack, providing security for their territory. She sets traps in the woods and looks out for intruders. It's often her job to scare off any idiot humans who wander too far into the pack's territory. Occasionally, she'll take extra paid work as a hunting guide or woodland guide to lead tourists around. Most scoff at her when they first meet. She usually has one throw an aribtrary target, which she'll hit a second or two after it's in the air, as proof of her prowess.

Mental Trauma

Her months essentially trapped in her wolf form have carried a lasting trauma. Of all the wolves in the pack, she's the most reluctant to ever actually use her wolf form, feral or anthro. She worries that one day she'll shift and she'll never come back from it. She worries that she'll do it all over again. There's all manner of anxiety and fear under the surface about what she is and what she'll become one day. What scares her the most, is that she likes some of her memories from that time as a rabid. There was a freedom and carefreeness to it, and she misses that some days.

Intellectual Characteristics

Daisy's intellect is entirely practical. She thinks purely on a problem-solution basis. She finds a simple and direct route to solve whatever her problem is. It becomes most apparent in her fighting: she's always going for what will be most destructive in the next instant or two. She doesn't plan ahead. She doesn't plan in detail except for the designs of her traps and the targets she's taking out. In those instances, the extra detail and work is warranted, prioritizing what needs to be done and guaranteeing her part works as designed.

The wolves' greatest hunter. She can shoot anything. Trap anything. Artemis has praised her for her abilities.
