She attended university at NUI Galway for third-level education. While there, she met a local boy named Michael. One unplanned pregnancy later, they settled down and married in Galway.

Rosemary is an ardent socialist and an Irish republican, but keeps those views quiet when dealing with extended family. After some initial friction with her Catholic upbringing, Rosemary supports Zero's pansexuality and was fully "up to date" by the time she was introduced to her trans grandkids. She doesn't discourage her daughter's polyamory, although in her heart she does hope Zero eventually chooses a single partner to settle down with for the sake of stability.
Like many others, Rosemary stopped going to Mass once the sex crimes of the Catholic Church in Ireland became uncovered in the early 2000s.
