Baashki (Bahzh-KIH)

Baashki is a dwarf, flowering shrub with reddish-brown flowers, and wide leaves that is used to make a herbal tea.

Basic Information

Biological Traits

It is a dwarf, low, flowering shrub that grows up to 0.2 feet tall. The large leaves are wrinkled on top and have a leathery texture, curling at the edges, and are around 28.1–30.6 cm long and 19.3–22.8 cm broad. The moderately big reddish-brown flowers grow in hemispherical clusters and are very fragrant and sticky. The flowers are around cm. The leaves and the flowers fold up in the night and only unfurl themselves during the twenty-seven day period when Roalas is in the sky.   The flowers bloom only when Roalas is at full fixed height in the sky and the period when Roalas is slowly moving in the sky. The time between flower to fruit or planting to harvest is very short, as it takes full advantage of the days in which Roalas is in the sky to fruit and to reproduce. It also grows very rapidly. Like all of Lexiconian life, Baashki also has the ability of charging, so it can support and nourish itself during the next twenty-seven days when Roalas isn't in the sky.

Additional Information

Uses, Products & Exploitation

The leaves are regularly used to make beverages —most commonly a fragrant tea—by Lexiconians. The tea that they make out of Baashki is a staple, important, and common drink for them.   The fragrant flowers are also used to make an essential oil that is used in a myriad of ways such as soaps, cosmetics, medicines, food flavors, and used as a base for perfumes, as well as adding scents to incense and cleaning products.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Baashki is found scattered all over Lexicon's frigid and harsh tundras, as well as the low mountain ranges, and is mostly concentrated in the vast expanses of open tundra.
