Roalas (Roh-ahl-AZ)

Roalas was the name of the primary star of the Lexicon system. A cool, dim, red dwarf, it was old and aged and gave off far less light and heat than a younger star such as that of Earth. Even so, Roalas still sustains life and light to the Lexiconian world.

Characteristics

Roalas is classified as an M-Class main-sequence star, more specifically an M3 V stellar class, due to the low lumosity of the star. The red dwarf is very old and an inactive flare star with low stellar activity due to its slow rotation, and the age of Roal is 9 billion years old.   The mass of Roalas is lower than of our Sun, being around approximately a third or 30% of the Sun, precisely 0.31 M☉. Because of its lower mass, the core region of the star fuses hydrogen at a significantly lower rate than Earth's sun.   The star's radius is 0.310 R☉. Its temperature is cooler, being around 3453 K. It has a bolometric lumosity of 0.013 L☉, as well as a visual lumosity of 0.002 L☉ (0.2%). It also has a low metallicity (Population II star), and as a result has more gas giants orbiting it than ice giants. The size of Roalas is about 29% that of the Sun but appears 4 times wider and 14 times larger in area for an observer on Lexicon's surface looking at the sky than the Sun appears to be from Earth's surface.   On the surface of Lexicon, Roalas appears dimmer, but colossal in the Lexiconian sky due to the planet's relative proximity to its star. The light on Lexicon at high noon on a sunny day is basically on our world an hour before sunset, which is around 60% less light than ours. In other words, the star is larger in appearance, but the light is dimmer. Under Roalas's light, Lexicon's sky was red and dim during the day.

Planetary System

The Lexicon planetary system is the gravitationally bound system comprising the star Roalas and the objects that orbit it. The system is known to consist of four planets, along with a small ring system which orbited one of the planets.   The four planets were: Lexicon, Caa'aa, Kalivt, and Xagon, only with one of them, Lexicon, which had a small ring system, was habitable.   The circumstellar habitable zone of the star is from 0.1AU to 0.25 AU.     Roalas was worshipped as the central deity in Roalasism, the religion of the Lexiconians.
