Tellus
Mother of the crops, but also protector of the dead, Tellus is an ancient anad silent goddess. She must not be confused with Ceres, linked to the natural cycle of seasons and the gleeful manifestation of blossoming, Tellus is the lady of the depths, of the darkness, she's the soil that welcomes the seed that must die to give fruits. Her power is tied to destruction, but with the perspective of rebirth. She's portrayed lying on the ground while she holds a cornucopia filled with flowers and fruit. She manifests with the shakings of the ground and can unleash the violence of an earthquake. She's greatly worshipped by those who work inside the earth. For this reason, an altar dedicated to the goddess is placed in all mines, or in places where it's necessary to dig in order to build. Her most magnificent temple was built by the great Septimius Severus, close to a silver mine in Moesia Superior.
