Session XII - River, Mother, and Tomb Report

General Summary

The Custodes begin their investigation. Immediately, they follow in Maera Diodora's footsteps and find the local curia suspicious. Aeneas is able to perform a ritual allowing him to retrace the steps of a man who claimed to have overheard the murder. Saorise finds a member of the curia who claims that evidence from the murder scene - the tip of a knife etched with a snake design - has been hidden. Everyone but Lucius has a dream where they witnessed a mannequin kill another with a snake. Aeneas was able to convince the local street rats to keep an eye out for the knife or for Diodora's assistant. Saorise, investigating rumors that Aetius Rufus Velleius gives favor to his friends, made her way to the Temple of the Mothers and learned about the triple goddesses that have been worshipped in the area since before Julius Caesar destroyed the city that Urbs Aurelianum would later be rebuilt on.
