Session VIII: Why Did It Have To Be Bears? Report
General Summary
Having been ambushed at the Glade of Chains, the Custodes managed to escape after Saorise Linnane killed the bearform Berserkir that was waiting for them in the central circle. They left the remaining legionaries and Pertinax behind and ran into the woods.
After his contubernium was killed, Lucius, making his way through the woods, stumbled across Saorise, Aeneas , and Theo running through the woods but decided to keep going to the source of a sound he was following. After arriving at the glade, Lucius witnesses the ambushing Germans make a sacrifice of Pertinax, causing a fuel-less blue flame to kindle to life in the center of the glade, and set off in pursuit of the remaining Custodes.
Having shaken off their pursuers, Saorise ambushes what she believes to be a lone straggler, only to discover that it is in fact Lucius, a fellow Roman and member of the Cohors Auxiliaria Arcana.
While they rest and try to find a way to return to the safety of the Limes, the group gets to know their new traveling companion.
