Session III: And That's Why You Don't Fight Bears Report
General Summary
Die illucescente, the Custodes head to the city watch to compare a map of the area to the visions they had seen. Combining those and a flash of remembered history, Saorise guesses that the ruins of Alesia are in the area and might be where the visions are directing them. On the way they meet an old woman who gives them better directions to the ruins and also mentions that she knew Brenno as a child. The child she remembers doesn't seem like he would have grown into the adult that the rumors describe.
After arriving at Alesia, the Custodes set up camp just in time for a storm to appear as if from nowhere. Aeneas , taking time to attempt a retrocognition ritual, instead has his attention turned to the present and is shown divine entities watching the ruins in anticipation.
The Custodes' rest is interrupted by an attack by wild animals, behaving as if directed to attack. After Aeneas and Theo learn why you shouldn't fight a bear head-on, Saorise demonstrates that even wildlife isn't safe from a trained assassin.
