Hercules

He's actually a demigod, whose strength and power were acknowledged by the other gods as so exceptional that he was admitted into the council of the major deities. Hercules, known as Herakles in Achaia, is in fact the son of Jupiter and of the mortal woman Alcmena. While he was still in the cradle, he strangled two snakes that had come to kill him, and later in life he achieved feats that would have been impossible for a human, which went down in history as "the twelve labors." Hercules therefore represents the hero that through strength and diligence can overcome the limits imposed by nature, and proves himself a winner in life. He's particularly loved by the young men who wish to distinguish themselves, and he's a mdel that embodies the virtues of the Roman people: physical strength, willpower, and ambition. He's portrayed as a man of great physical power who wears a lion hide tied around his neck, a reference to one of the labors, in which he killed a monstrous lion. He carries a club as his only weapon, to demonstrate that the greatest endeavors are feasible for those who can make the most of their strength.
