Twinform

There is not a way I could not love you, not as you are, not as you will be.

Across the multiverse, there are stories of when one person gives themselves to the beast inside them. Heightened and either barely in control or sometimes completely overcome by the emotions and cravings inside them, the person is let loose in a display of wild abandonment.

On Levis these beings are called twinforms, though they take many names on Infernus and Parnathum.

Levis Twinforms

On Levis, twinforms are rare and secretive, for they have been hunted to almost extinction several times due to the percieved aggressive threat they show and the reckless display for the ecosystem the foliad communities view them as having.

Now hidden from sight, twinform communities are hard won, and insular - though the longest lasting hide within foliad society, often fighting the hard won control they are forced to have.

Twinforms on Levis have their normal form (troll, foliad, nocturne), a 'half' form, and a beast form. Their beast forms tend to resemble mammals on the top half, with avian lower features, and often wings. Most Levis twinforms are carnivorous though feeding the foliad/troll/etc form meat will mostly satiate the beast except the need to run should they change.

Due to the presence of Glimmer in Levis, twinform have a slight advantage if their triggering emotion is positive.

Levis Communities

Levis has several secretive communities, though there is a more open and actively tracked and hunted group. They flit from old human ruin to ruin, trying to play on the desire of most foliads to not mess around with human stuff, and posting senties to alert when aggressors approach.

A small community is growing in Natare, with Yarrow, Honey , and the hunter Thane providing the core of this growing group. Unlike many groups of twinform, this community has a collection of auxilery support and have an active lodge where they stack their supplies for runs and the like. (Spoiler for Thalia's story)

The Change

Most twinforms across the realms have their forms held ransom to their emotions, with heightened emotions forcing a twinform to take their 'beast' form when emotions reach a fever pitch. Meditation, breathing and other forms of emotional control can battle this, but many shocking situations are a challenge for the twinform.

There is a romantacism in stories about the twinform and the change - linking it to the moon, although no such link exists.

The 'bite'

While communities of twinform might wish it, there is no such thing as twinform transition by bite. Twinforms are an echo through the firmament, guessed to be from the well of possibility though that is less sure given the aloofness and otherworldness of well based mutations and bloodlines, compared to the forest-born nature of the twinform.
