The night of a thousand kisses
Originally a two day festival to Aranthme that was localised to Gracetown the idea of a festival to the goddess of Lust and Poetry was a wonderful idea that spread through Levis. Set on the night after the first rain of winter, the festival used a lot of water motifs and promoted expressive language and displays of open passion.
As times changed and the world became more 'modern', the festival retreated from the world. Now limited to discete locations, the Night of a Thousand Kisses is a travelling party, that moves from city to city with each passing year.
Trappings
Usually held just out of town, or underground, the celebration has embraced the taboo nature of its premise - with a lower face mask, or bandana part of the constume.
Each year the party is dispersed through word of mouth, and the symbol of a spider, and attendees are encouraged to not just match the theme, but include spiders and spider symbology in their outfits from year to year.
Actions
There are several customs that happen throughout the night.
The first is the 'kissing' of masks/face coverings with people you enjoy and enjoy the company of (hence the 'kisses').
Secondly is the writing and burning of poetry, often confessions of love or other strong emotions (One memorable poem being a 15 page hate poem to a rival). Most poems stay private but excessive displays and reading have been known to occur between parties.
Then there is the dispersal - attendees are encouraged to stay the whole party, leaving in a massive cloud of people, like blowing on a fluff-flower, or water droplets from a splashed in puddle.
