Subdjinic sled

The first wave

The original Subdjinic sled was for fast an easy transportation around the isles near the Sunken Isles before Avani, before the rebellion, when the only hostility to the Empire was the reeds that could block the way of a swimmer and a leash, and so som,e sort of powered floating craft was the ideal.
The problem with the first wave of sled is the fact that the nocturne think like they want to be underwater, even when they act amphibious or take to the shallows, their minds, their designs, their science and attacks are all working towards being in and becoming one with the depths. So naturally the first few attempt sunk.

The wave with the bubble

Their second wave attempted a submersible with an internal pressurised chamber - and while the contents remained safe and dry and they worked on many a reed parting hull design, the pressure of the hull routinely caused the vessel to crumble inwards under the force, crushing any delicate cargo as the organic design was not fit for the depths these designs were going for.
About the size of the reader's canoe, the circuit magic around the plant based pod would cause it to float just faster than the swimmer it was connected to. Designs almost immediately led to a hammerhead design working on parting reeds and seaweed without the sharp design that could cut through the space.

The wave like a net

The third wave attempted to seal the contents of the submersible in their own smaller vessels, so that the outside vessel could be pourous, the flow of water moving in and around the parts as the whole device became one big carry bag, with a slightly more hydro-skeletal design. So naturally the forth wave experimented with octopedal propulsion, attempting to do with magic what the Nightbloom peoples were doing naturally. While the forth wave was the most stable of the designs, the nocturne designers were not ones to stop.

Hydrostatic Membranes.

The true victor for the race of the sled was the development of various different hydrostatic membranes and materials. While not all were suitable for use in the sled - many having sheer strengths not fit to the rapid movement that those designing the sled sought - the fabrics and membranes did eventually find a myriad of uses throughout Nocturne society - most notably the coral farms.
