Rootgeist

Flickering shadows, the breath of the forest long gone. Rootgeists are thing that form around naturally dead stumps and places where great forests once stood but the conditions of the lands have taken the trees away.

The careless might feel them as phantom roots, tripped over only to be looked back at to see nothing there. The scared might walk the plains or move past the stumps and see massive shadows of trees that cannot exist - do not exist. Those filled with wonder might feel their Glimmer  take the shape of massive and powerful trees, the energies of things long past but still majestic.

Rootgeist is often reported to be joined with the scent of deep compost, of thick leaf litter filling the nose, despite often being in locations where such litter would not exist.

Skeptics have often asked if they even exist, for there is no proof that outright these things exist - except the word of those that believe in the stranger parts of the realm of Levis. Believers also have discussed that they think there is a pattern to these shadows, tracing ancient scars across Levis, though the deviations of sightings are enough to say that 'lines of best fit' are hunting for patterns at best.
