Joyal

The Joyal is a long sleeved top, with a high neck, and an opening from clavacle to throat that is fastened for entry and exit. A joyal is usually made of a semi-transparent fabric across the arms and sides of the torso, though fully opaque joyal exist. Its dimensions hang loose around the wrists, and it is short along the stomach, often landing just below the ribs in length. Its main feature is however the large gap that exposes between the shoulderblades and most of the upper back.This gap has had many styles over the years - from the laced, to the 'standard' triangle, to the gourdish (a more rounded gap with a thin top near the back of the neck).

Coming into fashion from Brambleberry, this top was originally for the creature-kin within the settlement who had wings, but later coming to the fore when people realised they could use such a top to show off elaborate back tattoos and scarification.
