Charonarch

While not exclusively a House of the Arcane thing, the House contains more specialty of these than any other organisation. A Charonarch is a person who works to prepare the body and spiritual wellbeing of a person before prosthetics or augmenting biologicals are applied to them.

Within the House this is a skill learned from teacher to student, building upon a mix of accumulated wisdom and practical experience. While mindfulness is a skill needed in a Charonarch, a knowledge of chemicals, potions and salves; and of the biology of the species present is required.

Career

Qualifications

Within House the qualification is a 10 year apprenticeship. Usually starting after a student's tutorage years, the apprentice is submerged in House teachings and Charonarch training, often moving into House lodging and trading away their traditional home.

Social Status

The people who work this job are seen as necessary if not a little kooky. Within the House though, they are seen as revered and with respect as they are a major component of what brings the house its prestige.

Dangers & Hazards

Charonarch generally work with various caustic solutions and skin and nerve damage are possible if handled incorrectly. Also tendon damage is possible if the practitioner handles the bulk and mass of the patient in the incorrect manner.
