Celestial Mathematics
While you can use mathematics to describe the stars and heavens, in Levis, one requires a little more finesse.
Firstly, variables in the way the well of possibility interacts with the stars of this universe. The different realms in reality from a mathematical standpoint echo out their influence into their respective night skies, and so Levis mathematicians have to learn and correct for formulas that hint at the other realms.
Secondly there is the pure chaos that is the broken pathways between the realms, unseen but still exuding its influence on any kind of perfect mathematics.
Thirdly, there is the local chaos that is the two star system that the planet that Levis sits upon. Levis mathematicians have used a special form of what we would call calculus mixed with a 4 dimensional prediction model to craft an approximation of the local system, enabling them to begin the journey towards accurate mapping.
In the cistern beneath the Saburra observatory is an experimental map, updated constantly each time a model gets closer to predicting the path of the stars. Celentrist is often used as the primary mapping vector, predicting its slight wobble being the easiest way to know if a model is on point.
