Bioluminescent plants
Levis is alight with a natural glow. This is both figurative and literal, as many things in Levis take advantage of the lunar radiation and double suns to produce a natural glow. And this is beautiful and did in the past enable many foliads the ability to go into the early dusk without the advent of technology.
The advent of light circuits did help push the nightlife of the towns and cities later, but the larger the cities grew, the more mages had to be taught in order to provide the spells needed to enhance the settlements. And then awkwardness struck.
Several cities, including Natare discovered that the light polution of all that magic was disrupting the ecosystems of the settlements, and the surrounds - including the sleep habits and irritability of the humanoids of the towns and cities.
So, botanists and ecologist, mages and technomages were brought together to develop a new solution. Enter the bio-vines, various bioluminescent flowers and fungi that are bred to be able to connect to the Solar Cells and produce a lower, more consistant light. If light circuits produce either a heavy projecting blue or green light, then bio-vines and fungii tend towards a more diffuse and slightly more dull and warmer tone.
The addition of the cells boosted the glow longer and a touch stronger, and unlike the circuits, eneabled the lighting systems to be built into the structures themselves - most notably inside and along Natare's arboretum .
They are often grown along walls and inside roofing, though in many of the more whimsical locations they are supported and draped through the air to create lines of lights. Visually they are usually bred so that the flowers attatched to the vines are the part that glow, though that is not neccessary and more an aesthetic choice.
