Binding Circlets

Fiction has always existed in Levis. Sweeping tales of adventures yet had, mysterious conflicts created by far away villains that the hunters have to go off to stop, wild breakings of nature that might cause whole cities and towns to find and grow defenders.

But another type of fiction has always existed too - romance, and in the past these used to be singular books passed and traded and discussed by fans in small groups, but slow to build up their following as there was only one original sent between libraries and collections.

Recently though, with the popularity of Naya Stormbringer's romance series, two things have begun to occur - the creation of 2nd and third copies of popular works, so that they may be consumed and passed around at a faster rate, and the idea of Binding Circlets.

Binding circlets are when groups of fans of bindings (holo-books) meet up to discuss a fictional work. Drinks (sometimes alcoholic) and snacks are usually bought, as are simple creative projects that one could keep their hands busy with.

Fans of Naya Stormbringer especially are drawn to her racy and forbidden romance descriptions - especially of the fictional male romantic lead Vortund (a thinly veiled reference to Xylos the invader), and Browendale - a 8 foot tall bear-like monster man.

Consequences of these Binding Circlets include the afformentioned 2nd copies of many of the fictional works in Levis, the development of the circuit press (a device that can copy an existing circuit onto a flat surface) and the creation of pilgrimages to places and peoples involved in her works. After the forced movement of Xylos due to the one too many pilgrimages to his house, Vortund was forced to meet an untimely end in one of miss Stormbringer's later novels.

While many Circlets are of all types of demographics, these newer circlets have a particular thirst, actively bringing up their 'special interests' in general conversation and fawning over the contents of the bindings in references that have slipped into common venacular. Browen-like has become synonymous with a tall and brooding person who tends to be overly protective of the person they are interested in.
