Arganian Confederation
Based in a region of space known as the Arganian Arm, the Arganian Confederation second largest and Fourth Youngest of the Eight Major Territories. It was formally a region of the Galactic Heart Republic untill it sucessfull seceeded and reformed into the Arganian Confederation. Like it's predecessor, it is a Representative Democracy that spans several light years across the galaxy and comprises thousands of star systems. However, unlike the Galactic Heart, the Arganian Confederation offers far more sovereignty for it's sub-regions.
Born of Rebellion
The Arganian Confederation was originally a region belonging to the Galactic Heart Republic. It was one of the most prolific industrial sectors of the region. Until an era known as the Gracoan Era where the Galactic Heart attempted to transition into a full-fledged planned economy. Issuing severe regulation and Draconian legislation that choked the industrious region to a crawl. Fed up with the Galactic Heart's iron grip on production, the Arganian Region declared secession and became the Free Sovereign Territories of Argania. Not happy about losing its most productive region, the Galactic Heart set out to reintegrate the new fledgling territory back into it's self. Using a series of small military campaigns, the Galactic Heart slowly encroached into Arganian boarder in hopes it could use its military might to intimidate the region into a surrender. To everyone's surprise, the Arganians declared war. After decades of fighting and skirmishes, the Arganians managed to fight the Galactic Heart's military might back into its own boarders. This victory sent shockwaves throughout the Galactic Heart, a relatively small army could not only stand against the technological Juggernaut that was the Galactic Heart's Military, it could win. Rumors began to spread across the Galactic Heart, that other oppressed regions were considering secession. If the Arganians could pull it off, then perhaps they could as well. Knowing that violent force wasn't going to be the key to control anymore, the Arganian Rebellion set off a series of reforms throughout the superpower, bringing the oppressive Gracoan Era to an end.Economic and Political Philosophy
The Arganian Confederation primarily operates under a Neo-Liberal style Capitalist Economy. Although Sub-regions are free to choose an alternative economic system that better suits them, as long as they are still answerable to Arganian Federal Government.Military
The Arganian Confederation's modern Military is a direct descendant of the Rebel Militia formed during the Arganian Rebellion. It consists of branches, the Army, the Navy and Marines. The Navy is directly responsible for Space and Air support, while the Army primarily focuses on Infantry and Armor. The Marines are a branch of special forces utilizing both infantry and navy tactics.
Agriculture & Industry
The Arganian Confederation, like the rest of the Major Territories, utilizes the Planetary Model for agriculture and industry.
Education
The Arganian Confederation offers a public schooling up to pre-academy level, with private options available to individuals and families able to afford it. Academy and University level education is nearly entirely privatized, though community colleges and trade schools are usually publically funded.
