Rikke may have been assigned as our first leader, but even she'd bend for Êikarilla— A seria in Gehellûn
Êikarilla Gehel was a
Hillenist seria and the daughter of
Elîvihel II, the
Lord of
Gehel Keep, who reigned from 1122 to 1136
AA. She had from a young age been enamoured by her faith and its teachings as well as the life and achievements of
Tiyla the Blessed, the first ruler of the
Kingdom of the Hartilians, choosing to follow in her footsteps and dedicate her life to
Aprēa. Êikarilla's diligent contributions led to the establishment of the
Kiretia of Gehellûn, a cosy
kirevassa that was later upgraded into a
kirevesi that now bears her name in her honour.
Life as a Seria
Born as the firstborn child of the Lord of Gehel Keep, Êikarilla Gehel had the spent the first eight years of her life as the heir to her father's land. As such, she had few opportunities to explore her own passions, being instead forced to learn all what was expected of a ruler. Thankfully for her, Elîvihel II would eventually get the son he had wanted, casting aside his daughter in favour of his new heir,
Âldbreh.
Once free of the burdens that had weighed on her, Êikarilla pleaded with her father, begging the lord to allow her to join the clergy as an initiate. Elîvihel had been hesitant to lose his eldest child, but as he already had another son and daughter, he was willing to go along with his daughter's wishes, sending the young girl to a
kiretia in
Aûrkustel.
Êikarilla has received a thorough theological education and served as a
seria for years in the capital until 1120 when her sister,
Einilla, a woman who had reigned as the regent while their father was away on campaign, invited her back home. Einilla was keen on the development of
Gehellûn, a small settlement that was growing around their family's castle, and so she had financed the construction of its first
kiretia. Êikarilla's task was to bring in all the people they needed to provide the local community with all the essential services expected from them. Once the kiretia had been established, the seriati she had brough in had hoped that she would be chosen as their
kireseria, but Êikarilla turned down the opportunity, believing that she had an unfair advantage as a close relative of the local ruler. Êikarilla would live out the rest of her life as a humble
seria, assisting in the growth and prosperity of the town while developing close bonds with the community, including a few more intimate ones with her fellow
seriati.
Aww, she sounds lovely. I like that she turned down becoming leader of the kiretia.
