Kingdom of the Hartilians
Establishers of the Empire
Our most esteemed emperor might reign over us all, but his dearest possession will always be the Kingdom of the Hartilians, for without that land and its people, there would be no Empire of Pallernen.
Heart of the Hartilians
Since the reestablishment of the Empire of Pallernen following the centuries-long Interregnum, the Kingdom of the Hartilians has officially comprised of the duchies of Amilenlân, the Pallern, and Hartil—the latter of which is held directly by the monarch—as well as the County of Bervitte and Kiretiaric of South Lecvei. The inhabitants of these areas are for the most part ethnic Hartilians who take great pride in their role in imperial history, especially its foundation and expansion.
The geographic location itself, which the kingdom is commonly called Hartilenlân in the Pallernic tongue of the locals, or Hartilatiqaqi in Aiterean, a language commonly used for international communication throughout the world.
Gāqaqi—meaning heartland or central land—is another popular name for the region in Aiterean, especially to those who aren't accustomed to speaking the language and find Hartilatiqaqi to be a bit of a mouthful. In many of the other languages of the empire, the name is often also either the land of the Hartilians or heartland in their local tongues.
