Samson Castor

The oldest member of House Castor in proper historical record is Samson Castor. House Castor traces its own roots back well before the first Year of Record, and claims stewardship of Valciso and its surrounding regions beneath both Vialdara and Ryuushin. Their claims that the progenitor of the house was a mighty warrior are unsubstantiated, but believable enough. The men and women of House Castor are strong in both body and mind, with impressive physiques and an uncanny talent for mathematics. These proclivities served them well in the age of the Dragon Kings, as their tithes were always correctly counted and easily strong-armed from those beneath them. The transition to human rule changed little enough for them, though the taxes they collect were lesser by decree of the Hero King.
Samson Castor's place in history during the Betrayer War is of only minor importance. Though still technically the head of the Castor family, which opposed the Fonzian crown, Samson himself had left the ruling of the city of Valciso to his elder son, Bosco, in every sense but the official. While his words still guide the family, and thus the city of Valciso, everyone but Samson himself recognizes that Bosco is the true authority in the family and the city.
