Shovani Traditions and Superstitions

Leviathan Reading:   As one might imagine, many Shovani traditions and practices revolve around Leviathan. When Leviathan's heads move over the city, there are some who believe portents and omens can be read in the way its head and neck move and the patterns formed by the various configurations of waking and sleeping heads. Most think Leviathan just gets kinks in its neck sometimes.   Still, the belief is popular enough that the church tolerates "fortune tellers" who claim to be able to read vague portents in these movements, as long as they don't overstep themselves or contradict church doctrine.   Most citizens do believe that Leviathan's attention is meaningful in some way, however, and many shops keep chimes out front so that the wind from Leviathan repositioning can be heard and celebrated. Some believe a close pass of a head is a sign of coming good fortune, and have been known to stop and pray when the immense creature sweeps low over its domain.
