East Elver

East Elver was a district of Harmonil prior to the fall of the queendom in 711 SU.   Around 78 SU, a group of sanosceanes came to Harmonil and setup a small tent city on the eastern banks of the canal where they administered medical care to the less fortunate and sold a host of compis remedies such as salves, potions, and medicinal compounds.   The tent city continued to grow and gradually the tents were replaced with permanent buildings. The district attracted herbators who wanted to aid in its original mission, leading to the creation of the communal medicine garden. This was a garden that occupied the entirety of the central square and was open to all practitioners of the district to come gather resources for their treatments, though access was restricted to outsiders. The garden flourished even in the winter months thanks to the expertise of the herbators.   The cost of treating the poor for free could initially be offset by the selling of home remedies, but as the district expanded more money was needed for upkeep and to support the families that now lived there. Thankfully, city officials saw the benefit of subsidizing healthcare for the poor, so East Elver saw funding for the practice.   Though mostly known as a district of healing, East Elver's ties with the lower classes of Harmonil made it a powerful place for change. Even under threat of losing funding, practitioners were vocal about working and living conditions for the poor and the abuses of the Golden Noble Houses. City officials could do little to silence the voices of the district without risking uprisings of the poor, especially in the later years of the queendom. It is said that East Elver used its position to collaborate with members of Silver's Claw during the Silver Eagle Rebellion.
