Al'Soukarh

Demographics

The city started growing against the Naem sea, and was at first founded by fishermens and such, which makes the port of the city it's poorest settelements. The farther away from the sea, and the closer towards the North (Madina Almina), the richer the population. The Great Palace of Nahamira is located to the far North of the city, alongside most of the 9 temples of the city.

Government

Bieng the capital of the kingdom, it is not ruled by Amaelims but by Dinis mostly, and kingly consorts designated specifically for this task.

Industry & Trade

The city work very well through it's small trading buisnesses and shops, and very clearly depends on import from the agricultural zones of the country, except for fishing. Most of the middle-class community is able to obtain a rich, vareid diet and a certain comfort in their home, including some rare decorations.

Infrastructure

Some interesting part of the city are of course: The Great Palace, the 9 temples, the piled housing and the grand market.
The 9 temples are all very different to each other, some built tall and reaching for the sky like the 7th temple: the burj 'iilhi, a single minaret of about 15 meters hight and build very close to the Palace, and some more modest, like the 2nd temple: the khadim, a small temple located on the port, in between werehouses.
The piled housing and the grand market of the town center are impossible to miss when visiting the town. Blocks of rock randomly put together and poked in to create doors, windows, gardens, terraces, stairs and such. The grand market is a large and long building covered in an intricate roof, with little walls and doors. Many sales clerk come by to put up a small shop for the day and sell their goods directly in the capital. It is a great place of meeting for farmers, craftsmen, miners, jewelers and fishermans all over the country, where they can discuss the news of their professions.

Assets

You can buy anything in the city, from magical objects to teaching of a long lost art. If you need something common, or absolutely rare, you can probably find it in Al'soukarh.

Guilds and Factions

WHile there are no official guild systems in Nahamira like there is in Gaisgaich, people of the same factions, temple, profession will reunite together often and share news and knowledge. Community is a natural thing in the kingdom due to it's nomad heritage through beduins, and people do not find the need to unify as a "guild" because it is a natural thing to do for them.

History

Al'soukarh grew naturally from a fisherman's village to the great capital that it is today. The growth was very gradual and until it was picked as capital by the King Arhirhim, one of the sons of Almuneazil. The chage from classic city to capital boosted it's growth, and it only took 24 years to make it the largest city of the country, that used to be Fakir (Madina Almina) and while it took time, this growth pulled other cities like Hakim into the progress through commerce.
Fun fact: Al'soukarh was the only large settlement to have never been attacked by a foreign army: the only army to ever walk on the city was Safah the bloodthirsty.
