The Lunar Guard

Following the Longest Night, a militia of civilian volunteers was self-established in Aldwain as a defense force against Ostwick's night creatures. Over the course of the following century, it was officially uplifted by Duke Voldigan Aldwain I on Nerimber 1st, 1321 AR from petty civilian militia to Ostwick's primary specialized national defense force. They were outfitted with armor and weapons of enchanted silver and titled the Argento Ferro (a Haelish phrase meaning Blades of Silver), though they are more commonly known by their civilian-given Common title, the Lunar Guard.
Bearing the heraldry of a crescent moon eclipsing the sun, the Lunar Guard stand as the first and last line of defense for most civilians throughout Ostwick against the night creatures that stalk the deep shadows, be they zombies, ghouls, ghosts, vampires, or otherwise.
