Kuge

The Kuge are at the top of the social hierarchy in Rokugan , ranking above all other classes.  They are land owning samurai, and serve as the Lords for non-landed samurai.  This class includes the Emperor, Emerald Champion, Clan Champion, Family Damiyo, and Provincial Governor, as well as local land owning Smuria.

Land and Wealth: Kuge families often possess vast estates, lands, and wealth, which sustain their influence and prestige within Rokugan.
Cultural Influence: Kuge members shape cultural norms and societal trends through their patronage of the arts, fashion, and intellectual discourse.
