Great Clans
The Seven Great Clans of Rokugan are the major ruling bodies in the Empire. Each great clan was founded by a Kami, one of the siblings of the first Emporer, who fell to earth. The Clans are made up of a collection of families, each of which was founded by either a follower of the founding Kami, or in some cases a great hero who changed the course of the Clan and was rewarded with the right to make a family afterwards.
