Timmorn of Neverwinter Wood

Timmorn was born in 1471 DR into a pack of Shifters living along Berun's River at the edge of Neverwinter Wood. His community consisted of Longtooth shifters, who were known amongst their kind as being athletic and durable while remaining wise to the world around them. Members of Timmorn's pack supported the people of Vellosk, a settlement of the Uthgardt Gray Wolf tribe of barbarians, as trackers, hunters, guides, or scouts into the Neverwinter Wood or nearby Starmetal Hills.   Timmorn's father was Pack Leader who left Timmorn's mother for another mate within the same pack. Timmorn was still an adolescent at the time and resented his father for leaving his mother to raise him by herself. Worse, despite being the Pack Leader's son, Timmorn's father refused to claim Timmorn as his son which made him and his mother live as virtual outcasts.   As Timmorn grew into adulthood, his father's mate grow jealous of Timmorn since she was unable to bear a child of her own. She began to plant seeds of discord throughout the pack, even convincing Timmorn's father of how Timmorn posed a threat to his position as Pack Leader. In Timmorn's pack, a Pack Leader had the right to challenge anyone who may threaten his leadership and to maintain his position within the pack. So Timmorn's father, bolstered by his mate's lies, challenged Timmorn.   Although Timmorn was strong, he lacked the fighting skills his father had. The fight nearly cost Timmorn his life. Defeated yet still posing a threat to his father's position, Timmorn's mother urged him to leave the pack for his own safety. Timmorn left that same night, but his injuries were worse than he realized. He didn't make it too far into the forest before passing out.   He awoke later and found himself at the lodge of Gustaf Stellern, who was known as Falcon the Hunter, who found the unconscious and dying Timmorn. Falcon offered for Timmorn to remain at his lodge to fully recover. Timmorn insisted that he leave unsure of whether or not he could trust the man despite Falcon having saved his life. But, it was apparent to Falcon that Timmorn would not be able to survive in the forest or beyond on his own. Falcon offered to train Timmorn in the ways of hunting. In return, Timmorn would help out around the lodge along with Pell, a young human boy who couldn't speak, and Corwin a middle-aged human man who worked as the lodge's cook.   For several months in 1494 DR, Timmorn excelled under Falcon's training. Late one fall afternoon, as Timmorn was exploring an area deep in the forest, Timmorn encountered a bearded old man old, whose legs seemed to be sprouting from the trunk of a large and old tree. The old man's skin flesh was gray and resembled old wood. The old man turned out to be a manifestation of the deity, Silvanus. The deity of wild nature revealed to Timmorn that he cared very little for maintaining a proper balance with civilization, yet despised those who would threaten wild places throughout Toril. He gave Timmorn a choice of being one of his Rangers if he so desired. Timmorn accepted Silvanus's offer and so became a follower of Silvanus.   In the month of Marpenoth in that same year, Silvanus tasked Timmorn with traveling to the fishing town of Saltmarsh. Silvanus told Timmorn he would know in time what his purpose was for traveling there.   When he returned to Falcon's Lodge, he shared with the others what he had experienced in the forest. Timmorn thanked Falcon, Pell, and Corwin then packed his belongings and made his way to the town of Saltmarsh.
