A brave group of adventurers from Red Larch found themselves facing a daunting task - infiltrating the nefarious Rivergard Keep, a stronghold of the bandits who have been terrorizing travelers along the Cairn Road and Dessarin Road. The group spent several days toiling in Rivergard Keep, helping rebuild it while maintaining the ruse of being a small band of mercenaries for hire. During that time, they learned that the people living in the old castle, while claiming to protect trade along the river from the depredations of monsters and bandits, were, in fact, the very outlaws from whom they claimed to be defending trade. During the past two days, however, Seeker failed to return to the barracks where the group was assigned. After some investigation, the adventurers learned that Seeker had been assigned to work in the keep's kitchen. They also discovered that Seeker had then been sent to a place known simply as "The Temple" to work in a place called "The Workshop". Further investigation revealed that a secret underground stream beneath the keep led to "The Temple". The secret entrance to the underground route was said to be in the keep's great hall. So, during the day, Darath, Erun, and Peridot snuck their way to the great hall and eventually found the secret entrance. Unfortunately, the three did not have all their equipment, so they decided to return during the night. During their search, Grimjaw, the leader of bandits, and a few of his followers arrived in the great hall. Fortunately, the three were able to hide in the secret entrance and were not discovered. While hiding, they overheard Grimjaw talking about sending Seeker to "The Temple" as an offering to their leader, a person he called the Prophet of Water. After Grimjaw and the others left, the three left their hiding spot and returned to their duties. Before going their separate ways, they agreed to sneak back into the great hall at night to find and rescue their friend, Seeker.
