Vittorio Sendris-Ysern
Vittorio Sendris-Ysern was a famous Alderni sailor and cartographer, born into a client house of House Ysern. He came to prominence as a junior naval officer during the War of the Seas, and was awarded command of his first ship, the Bloody Baroness, in 1078AK. After the eventual defeat of the Sahuagin invasion, he turned his talents as a ship's captain towards the hunting of pirates in the Adric Isles, greatly enriching his house in the process.
Today he is best remembered for the work of the latter part of his life, the surveying of the coastlines of western Kataris, the Adric Isles, and Aaranak. His maps remain in use to this day, and are considered among the most accurate navigational charts of the regions that they cover.
He died of whelk fever at the age of 82 whilst on an expedition to map the Spire Isles. In accordance with the Ald custom, he was buried at sea.
