Saltmire

An obscure realm, the nature of which is unclear, Saltmire is described as a great salt marsh at the edge of the world. There is a great deal of contention as to whether it is an Abode of the Dead in its own right, or if it refers to some part of the Grave of Kings, or if it is a portion of the Periphery that stands between the material realm and some other place entirely. It is most often referred to in the context of the discussion of Moruk, the Salt God of the Copper Isles, who is said to provide the dead passage across the salt marsh for a price. What may lie on the other side of this marsh is a mystery that has never been conclusively solved.
Some who have encountered Moruk have reported him describe Saltmire as "the end of the river" - contextually assumed to be a reference to the River of Time - and that there may be some connection between Saltmire and the Hell of Thalkaya.
