Proclus Canthor
Born 1301, the nephew of Duchess Andromeda Canthor van Alumark. Never married, despite some pressure from his House; though rarely acknowledged in high society, it is known that he has had a longstanding relationship with Lord-Scion Weirich Ysern. Proclus’s military career was cut short by a severe injury on the Balthan front in 1322, from which he never fully recovered; retiring from the military, he set his mind to academia, becoming a prominent legal scholar and eventually being appointed a judge of the Royal Tribunal in 1340. He is noted as being somewhat at odds with the political stance of his House’s Matriarch, and is generally considered a moderating force in the Tribunal; we believe that he may have rather deeper sympathies for the reformist cause than he might publicly admit to, and that he may feel somewhat constrained by the present political situation. Proclus would potentially be a useful ally for our cause in as much as influence within the Royal Tribunal would be helpful to smooth over any legal issues; whilst he has little influence within House Canthor, it is also possible that he may know of other nobles within the family who might be willing to stand against Duchess Andromeda.
