Culture/Religion: Cymric/British Christian Essex used to be the Cymric land of Caer Colun until it is conquered by the Saxons. Then it is an independent kingdom, East Saxony. Essex is conquered by King Arthur and its lands ruled over by the victors. It provides some Saxon knights in the post-Conquest period. Places Maldon is a thriving sea port. Ipswich is a wealthy fishing and trade city.
