DV a.D. - Salesbières sous la menace saxonne
General Summary
Prince Cynric threatens Salisbury: that unless Salisbury
submits to him this year, his father, the rightful King of
Britain, backed by the kings Port and Ælle, will destroy
Salisbury in the Summer.
King Nanteleod will battle the Saxons in the east. To
do this, he has to cross Salisbury and agrees to come to
their defense if they are attacked.
King Idres will continue his war in Summerland.
True to the Prince’s word, King Cerdic and Port finally
invade Salisbury. However, King Ælle does not join them.
King Nanteleod comes to Salisbury’s aid and runs the
Saxons off the field of battle. Both Salisbury and Gentian
join King Nanteleod.
King Nanteleod then marches his army eastward and
joins forces with Duke Ulfius. Both march to fight another
force of Saxons at the town of Royston (Hartland). The
Saxons retreat after a brief battle, their army intact.
Duke Corneus joins the army of King Nanteleod. They
march south and invade Essex. King Æscwine of Essex
brings his army to contest the Britons and loses both his
life and the battle. His son, Sledd, becomes King of Essex.
Hartland and Huntland are liberated and they become
King Nanteleod’s vassals.
