General Summary
Picts continue to ravage Logres. Vortigern decides to get mercenaries. Aquitainians ally with Romans.

The Pictish raids deeper into Logres increase in intensity. King Vortigern orders his armies to muster, but most do not answer the call, staying at home to defend their families against the raiders, or at least that is their excuse. A notable exception is the Berroc Saxons, who send a sizeable contingent to the King in Glevum, King Vortigern scolds the nobles of Logres to no avail. He also summons the Supreme Council, which sends replies that they are unavailable as the country is so dangerous. Needing more troops to fight the relentless Picts, Vortigern sends emissaries to the continent to try to hire mercenaries.
