CDLXII a.D. - La félonie de Rowena

General Summary

Vortimer defeats the Saxons against at Ebbsfleet, but dies, some say poisoned by his stepmother, Rowena. King Vortigern calls for Saxons and Britons to meet in a peace conference at Salisbury Plain.

En Césarée Maxime :

Vortimer attacks to force the remaining southern Saxons off Thanet resulting in a siege/battle known as Ebbsfleet. He is victorious, but is mortally wounded in the fighting.

Before the battle, Rowena, his stepmother, visits and beseeches him to cease the attacks against his father. No-one is privy to the meeting, but Vortimer appears pale and pained afterward. The rumor afterwards is that Vortimer’s death was due to poisoned wine brought by Rowena.

In the north, the Rebels clash with the Loyalists and Saxons. A big battle is fought, which the Loyalists win.
