General Summary

Vortigern moves Cornovii warriors to Dumnonia, and Votadini to Cambria, where they expel the Irish. He compensates the Ordovices with some of the Cornovii lands, creating the Kingdom of Powys. The Kingdom of Silures becomes known as Escavalon. Vortigern’s daughter marries the son of High King Loegaire of Ireland, and a number of Irish nobles and commoners are converted to Christianity. This is followed up by a formal treaty, first broached during Germanus’ visit, that ends the raiding on both sides and Irish help for their colonists in Britain. Vortigern is persuaded to settle Saxons under Hengest’s sons Octa and Eosa in former Parisi lands, founding Nohaut and Deira. Shiploads of Continental Saxons flock to the new theods. Two tribes of loyal Picts are moved to Jagent. Vandals sack Rome. Gallo-Roman nobleman Avitus becomes the Emperor with Aquitainian support.

News arrives that Rome, the center of the civilized world, has been sacked! The tribe of Germans called the Vandals has done the impossible and brought Rome low. The Western Empire is finished.

Great numbers of people, including families, pass through going to a new land, moved there by Vortigern. They are Cornovii warriors moving to Dumnonia. Word is the Votadini are moving to Cambria, where they are resisted by the Irish. Rumors say that half of the North has been given to the Saxons, thousands pouring in from the continent. This causes uneasiness among many who fear Vortigern will move some tribes here again, giving them to his favorites. Vortigern sends those who are known to be Dissidents against the Irish in Cornwall.

Furthermore, Vortigern invades Ireland with the Saxons. He completes his victory with a marriage of his daughter to the Irish High King’s son.
