the Free Tribes region
This area along the eastern edge of the Sea of Ales hosts the Hundred Lakes in the mountains and hills to the north and vast grasslands to the south. It borders the Eastern Reaches via hills on its east and this is where most of its peoples come from.
The Free Tribes’ primary inhabitants are the gyípnép (lizardfolk) who have escaped the iron rule of the kek sarkany (blue dragons) of the Eastern Reaches. A few bronz draaks (bronze draconians), who usually aid the dragons in ruling their slave people, also live amongst the slithzerikai, albeit in relative equality and peace. Though not usually living together with the lizardfolk, many vlieger (kobold) tribes dot the land, especially in the more hilly and mountainous regions to the north and east.
These people are largely just trying to make ends meet and hope that armies from the Eastern Reaches don’t cross in and reenslave them.
To the northwest of this region (northeast of the Sea of Ales), a number of communities of armand (badgerfolk) live in relative peace. They remain rather xenophobic and have next to no interaction with the other inhabitants of the area. Efforts have been made to open potential cultural and trade relations by dwergachtig from Gloridia, but they seem wholly disinterested in such.
