Dudlingia Principality
The Dudlingia Principality was created after the Orcs of the Koppelian Principality rose and slaughtered their masters. Rankling at the idea of centralized government, they formed a loose confederacy.
Geography
Dudlingia and all its isles are covered in deciduous forest, with a few hills towards the border with the Koppelian Principality.Structure
Dudlingia is a loose confederacy, in which most of the power is concentrated in the Clans. Most Clans are based on a location- a town or city, or even a geographical feature, such as a swamp. Other Clans are similar to the Guilds found in other countries- based around a profession. Elders of the Clans lead and adjudicate to their people; in addition, they come together to choose a Prince to lead Dudlingia. The Prince himself has relatively little power other than his interactions with foreign powers.
Demography and Population
Dudlingia is almost entirely orcs, with goblins making up a significant minority. Despite their small stature, they are valued and even have a few small Clans themselves. Dwarves and clockworks are rare, and treated as oddities. Given their history with Koppelia, they have a strong distrust of humans, and they are almost unheard of in Dudlingia.
The Orcs of Dudlingia have a complex relationship with changelings. A changeling who is forthright about their nature is accepted, a changeling who has kept their nature secret is shunned.
Foreign Relations
It would be a lie to say the Dudlingia was on good terms with any of the countries of the world. But the only country with which is they have particularly bad relations is unsurprisingly the Koppelian Principality. While not at open war, they are almost constantly skirmishing, and attacking a Koppelian ship doesn't really count as piracy, does it?
Culture
Dundlingians are seen as simplistic barbarians. Dudlingians, however, simply know what it's like to have less, and can be content with less. In addition, shows of wealth and status are too associated with the hated Koppelian nobility. Dudlingians prefer muted and subdued colors, such as browns and greys. Brighter or vivid colors tend to be seen as garish and excessive.
