You compress a creature's timeline against itself. Make a melee spell attack against a creature within 5 feet of you. On a hit, you conjure an ethereal clock above its body. Each time the clock chimes, the target takes 2d8 force damage. The clock chimes once when you cast this spell, and it chimes again at the start of each of your turns and each of the creature's turns until the spell ends.
At higher levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the duration increases by one round for each slot level above 2nd. If you cast this spell at 7th level or higher, instead of chiming a thirteenth time, it explodes, dealing 48 force damage to the target and 6d8 force damage to each creature and object within 20 feet of it. The damage of the explosion increases to 64 and 8d8 for an 8th level slot, or 80 and 10d8 for a 9th level slot. Available for: Bard, Wizard
