Elem'tor in Lasair | World Anvil

Elem'tor

Feeling like a border between worlds, the permanent encampment known as Elem'tor is the final settlement that many people see in their lives. Laying at the edge of of the wreckage that is the eastern half of Lasair, Elem'tor serves as a last stop for adventurers, archaeologists, seekers, and any others preparing to venture into the unknown.

Rest and Resupply

The devastation of the Dragonscourge left the eastern portion of the continent a shattered land. It is utterly inhospitable, endlessly dangerous, and full of terrors. It is also home to myriad hidden treasures left from the Imperial Era, as well as home to all sorts of magical creatures and valuable resources. It's for this reason that there is rarely a shortage of those planning to journey into this land hoping to find their fortune.   The walled town of Elem'tor - named for the Elementals that frequently raid against it from The Glow and The Desolation - is a final stop for those seekers before entering into those lands. It rests on the northern bank of the Scar River, as far upstream as is possible. The town has been rebuilt a number of times in the past, each time a little bit further away from The Glow after it is destroyed by some magical calamity. The current iteration has stood for six years, and there is a strong hope that it might reach a full decade.   Much of the town's permanent population is generally made up of adventuresome merchants and entrepreneurs willing to travel this far to sell to those with enough bravery to go even farther. Even making it this far is a trial in itself, as there is no safe overland route from the City-States Region and supplies generally have to be barged up the Scar River, taking care to not stray too close to the southern bank of the Shifting Jungle which results in destruction at the hands of whatever fearsome creatures live in those dark woods.   Elem'tor's other permanent residents are primarily those hired to defend it. Mostly made up of former Guild soldiers or retired adventurers, there is usually a fairly stout defense waiting within the walls for any attacking Elementals.
