Education

As in most medieval societies like that of Larcen, Nikolas' profession was chosen for him by the family hierarchy. The choice of a martial education was befitting of the prestige that came with his family name, and it suited Nikolas just as well. He was sent to the "West Point" of Larcen: The Valerian Military Praxeum, or "The Praxeum" as it's referenced in regular conversation.
It was here that Nikolas began to create a name for himself, reaching the top of his graduating class as "Wing Commander"

Employment

After graduating from The Praxeum, Saville was assigned to the 231st Military Police Battalion in the Valerian capitol as a "Lieutenant of the Law."
Because of the integration of military forces into the general police presence in the capitol (in an Attack on Titan-esque manner), Saville was closely involved in routine arrests and created a name for himself as he dealt with corrupt officials and dismantled crime organizations in the capitol district, eventually earning the rank of "Commander of the Company."
