Cete Solar System

Lapida is located in the solar system of Cete, a G/K star with 11 planets, where Lapida is the 4th planet out. Amongst the others, in order of closest to furthest from Cete, are Temera, a small quick-moving rocky planet; Degam, with a large metal core; Medel, similarly built to Degam but slightly larger on the whole; Lapida itself; Selem, a large and watery planet; Keja, a green Saturnlike planet complete with rings; Roshe, a dense gas giant; Gris, a simple and Jupiter-like giant; Velua, a gas dwarf heavy with minerals; Charu, a pale white tiny gas dwarf; and Relpek, even less dense or noticeable than Charu but otherwise extremely similar.   Of these, only Temera to Selem are visible to the naked eye, and all the gas giants require a telescope to be seen.   Lapida has two moons, Melicha and Mechala, considered to be "little sister" and "big sister" respectively. Mechala, being more visible and having a faster orbital period, is the one whom months are based around. There are nine days in a week, one for each of the visible planets, the two moons, the land, and the sea, with four weeks in a month. However, the last day is lopped off of every month, considered a sacrifice of Melicha to help the world she loves so much. There are also nine months in the year, based on the same deities. Melicha's full moons are considered a day of celebration, and exist outside of the calendar week. At the end of the year, just before spring, there are 10 straight days of celebration and festival, where it is said the dead can communicate more easily with the living and visit their relatives and folks who have not yet also moved on, as well as celebrating life itself. Every other year the number of festival days is 11, except when Melicha has six full moons that year, in which case there are 9 or 10.
